Specially designed to resist not only water but also sweat from intensive training sessions, the compact MP3 offers a perfect solution for everyone from health-conscious athletes to competitive athletes. To demonstrate its waterproof capabilities, the marketing initiative is transforming the ubiquitous vending machine into a one-stop sales portal for athletes looking for a new waterproof music player.

When Sony told us about the W-Series Sports Walkman, its first waterproof, wireless portable MP3 player, it quickly became clear that swimmers were our ideal target,” says Kevin Walker of Draftfcb New Zealand. “We needed to put it somewhere the swimmers couldn’t ignore it, right where they needed it most.
